pinterest pick of the week...

A very happy Friday to everyone! Hope it's sunny where you are? Surprisingly for the uk we are having a little Indian summer this week so it has been glorious and I'm finding it very hard to resist the temptation to just sit in the garden with a book...sigh...anyway onto this weeks pinterest pick. Today is all about my love of paper (I have a small obsession with brown paper...I have a special white pen to draw on it with, worrying I know!) so of course a board named 'Paper Love' was bound to catch my eye! It has been lovingly curated by Moline and again it has been so hard for me to choose only a handful of images from all of the amazing pictures shes collected! Well I hope you all have a lovely weekend with lot's of fun things planned and I hope to see you next week! Enjoy...x

How beautiful is this papercut decoration? Absolutely stunning...
As usual click on the links at the top for the full board and sources. x

PS - You may have noticed just underneath my blog logo a new tab for my very own Pinterest page! Yes I know was it really a wise move? Well I'm hoping to actually use it as a proper pinboard seeing as I don't have room for a lovely large one on my wall at home. It's still very new (only started yesterday!) so I have just pinned a few random favourites but I'm sure this will grow, what am I saying? I guarantee it will grow! Probably out of control and then there will be some sort of pinterest intervention from friends and family...either way have a look around and try not to get too addicted!x

littletree discovers...stop the clock design

Happy Thursday, almost the weekend again! Where does the time go? It's a bit scary, even the supermarkets have started to get in their christmas goodies! Is it me or is that still way too early? Anyway...yesterday I saw over on rachael taylor's blog, these beautiful card designs by Stop the Clock Design and had to learn more...

The idea for starting a design company came when two friends Kathy and Erin were having a little catch up one day and the rest developed from there! Off to the shed they went 'armed with lot's of tea, biscuits and big ideas...' I just love that! They set about combining both of their design styles and so Stop the Clock Design was born. It's a lovely mix of sketchy drawings, stitching, patchwork fabrics and papers, all combined in a very clever and quirky way. There are some really different ideas here along with some very funny little captions, no wonder they were recent finalists at the Henries for their 'antique palette' collection. Enough of me rambling on here are a few of my favourites from the collections or pop along to their website for the full monty!x

i secretly love the saying 'cool beans' so this is just fab!

beautiful books...fabric

Good morning all! I have another beautiful book to share with you today, this is one I have had for a while and was oh so useful for inspiration on many projects when I was first at college! This was back in the day before all these lifestyle and design blogs had yet to pop up, how did we ever cope?

Before the wonderful days of blogging and pinterest I often trawled magazines and books like this one to collect images that would inspire me on a new project. It's such a great book full of interiors, world fashion, fabrics, colour, texture, pattern...I could go on but I would rather show you a glimpse of what I am talking about with a few sneak peak pages from the book, Fabric - The Fired Earth book of Natural Texture. x

'Treats' prints...

Hello Tuesday! I find Tuesday to be a very forgotten day...Monday is yuk, beginning of the week and then by the time Wednesday comes around it's all hey half-way through! So today I have decided it's Jolly Tuesday and to make it all very jolly indeed I am sharing some new print ideas with you all, spiffy eh?!

Now I know summer is over but I had a small burst of summer design madness and created these pastel, candy coloured 'Treats' prints. You all know how much I love tea and cake (sometimes a little too much...) but in the summer it's all about the ice cream! And seeing as our summer here never really took off I guess it was my subconscious craving an icy treat! From there came jelly (jelly & icecream-classic combo) and then those giant lollipops that you get at all the stalls on the seafront, sigh...maybe summer will happen next year? Probably not... what's your favourite summer treat? x

littletree loves...design bark

Big Top

Welcome to another week! Hope your weekend was good? Mine was very busy with friends and a surprise birthday dinner (not mine...) at my favourite local Italian restaurant, the icing on the cake was the delivery of this months LivingEtc magazine with pages jam packed with design and interiors goodness! In one little corner I spied this lampshade (above-top left) and when I looked to see who it was by I instantly remembered seeing some at Tent London when I visited last year. The combination of wood and print being so different for a lampshade, I of course fell in love immediately (surprise!) with the wonder that is Design Bark...

The idea for printing on wood veneer was developed by Sarah Newman during her MA and so Design Bark was born! All wood is FSC certified, she uses eco friendly pigments to print plus, sources and manufactures everything here in the UK to keep her carbon footprint as low as possible! Super eco credentials and fab design, how can you not want one? So I hopped over to the website to see what else was new...I came across some designs I have known and loved plus a few new additions that are just so stunning I had to share them with you today...have a great week! x

Harlequin
Hex
The above designs are all available in the online shop,
Below is a selection of more individual designs which are so beautiful...

pinterest pick of the week...

A Happy Friday to all! This week's Pinterest pick of the week comes from Kim Caldwell and the board I have chosen to share with you is called Cosy...which this beautiful fireside picture sums up perfectly. As I may have mentioned in my previous new slippers post the weather is changing and the need for something warm to wrap up in is becoming more necessary as the evenings draw in. So grab a hot chocolate and get all snuggled up for this weeks 'picks'...x

The last two are definitely more animal friendly than the real deal!

littletree discovers...Little Trees at MissPrint

So, over at Print & Pattern yesterday I notice these lovely wallpaper designs by MissPrint, I have seen them around in magazines/blogs recently but had no idea the collection was called Little Trees! So of course I had to post a few pics on here, these four colourways are my favourite especially the moss (yellow) and aquamarine. I've been a fan of MissPrint designs for a while but haven't checked their website recently so I had a lovely time browsing around, they now do fabrics, lampshades and cushions as well as the wallpaper collections! I have posted a few faves below for you to enjoy...so enjoy!x

new slippers!

Just a quick pic of my new slippers that a very good friend bought for me! Aren't they cute? I love anything knitted with a pom-pom on it! Things are starting to get all cosy here in the uk as the weather turns and these are just perfect for those inbetween seasons, before the big thick socks and slippers come out! Enjoy that sun while it lasts! x
