Welcome Wednesday! Now if you joined me yesterday I was raving about the fab Judy Kaufmann...my new design crush...swoon...anyway, through her website I discovered the amazing world of Mykea! This is a magical place where you can add fabulous designs and graphics to your plain Ikea furniture to instantly make it a work of art...this really is a genius idea, who doesn't have a piece of Ikea furniture that is looking a bit plain or could do with a bit of sprucing up? Exactly, everyone...so hop on over to Mykea and pick from hundreds of designs by great designers and spruce away! No Ikea furniture? No problem Mykea also do a great range of wall stickers so don't fret there really is something for everyone...here's a selection of work from a few designers...x

Another hey there and hello to everyone! Hope your week is going well so far? Today I thought I would share the work of a wonderful illustrator I discovered on a grey Sunday morning whilst browsing one of my fave blogs Bright Bazaar. Every Sunday Will (of Bright Bazaar) posts his favourite links of the week, one of which was Judy Kaufmann's blog...now I recognise some of her 'Famous' prints, I just didn't have a name to go on...Anyhoo I had no idea there were so many designs and that I was going to fall in love with them all! Her blog is so lovely I had to investigate more and discovered she has a fab website, Etsy, society6 and mykea shops, plus some really interesting Pinterest boards...she is one busy lady! So here is just a tiny selection of my favourites...x

Wow one week gone already! Another Monday into the new year...how was your first official full 2012 weekend? Now you may have noticed last week that another page icon had appeared at the top here...no? Well it is for my new Society6 shop! This all came around because I noticed a while ago that my post about the Tigerprint competition I entered for designing a Male Pattern was my second most viewed post! So I figured why not use them for something and I knew of various designers using Society6 so I checked it out...and here are the final products! The repeat patterns are ideal for the laptop and phone skins, not sure I would have them as a print but I love the iPhone covers, just need an iPhone now! So I started with just the two male patterns but then kept adding my favourites from my design stash and now I have loads! Here are a few faves from the shop, hope you like and please visit!x

pinterest pick of the week...

The first pinterest picks of the new year and of course it had to be a selection of some beautiful 2012 calendars! Now these picks are from my own pinterest collection because, although I have a pretty new diary from Paperchase I am craving a big annual calendar! Not that I have any wall space left to hang it mind you...so to keep the calendar lust at bay I have collected all these wonderful designs in one place to admire whenever I want! These are just a few favourites but there are plenty more, so hop on over here to check them out and my other boards...x

I think this last one by Anek is my favourite because after the year has passed it still makes a lovely print to have hanging in your kitchen, but I love them all really! Any faves from the choices above? The best thing about putting this collection together has been discovering some really great new shops and designers, it is amazing the amount of talent that is out there! Hello again, isn't the week going quickly!? Well in my post on Tuesday I showed you a few of my fave Xmas presents and these pretty washi tapes (above) were among the final pick...and I didn't forget I did promise to share my washi tape source with you and so here it is! This shop has a slightly strange name as you may have noticed above but the tape selections are some of the best and most original I have ever seen...so here are a few of my favourites that I have been drooling over recently!x

And now here's something a little more fresh and invigorating for the new year...Nothing says 'new beginnings' like spring, it's a great burst of new life and colour into the world...and the new ranges at H&M home do just that! Now I'm not a girly girl and if you read regularly you will know I love the retro/scandi/vintage vibe for my interiors, but, I just can't resist the new Floral Pastels range in at H&M! I love this pic of a huge cosy bed piled with pretty cushions, I have the biggest urge to dive in with a good book and cup of hot chocolate...bliss...so today I've picked a few favourites to share with you but do stop by the website for all the other new ranges, there is bound to be something for everyone!x

a happy new year and christmas loot!

Welcome 2012! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year, received (and gave) lot's of lovely things and spent time with friends and family hopefully without too many arguments! As usual we had Christmas Day just immediate family, which is nice as it's a lot less stressful, but then that means a lot of family visiting over the week between Xmas and New Year! Of course too much food was eaten and there was plenty of lounging in front of the fire, neither the cat or dog could figure out what the heck was going on and spent most of the week just looking at us with confused little faces...I am quite looking forward to getting back to my normal daily routine and so today I'm easing back into work mode with a round up of a few of my favourite Christmas gifts...enjoy...x

1/ Modern Vintage Style by Emily Chalmers, 2/ Print & Pattern 2 by Bowie Style, I have wanted both of these books for ages so it's lovely to finally be able to flick through them in real life...much better then Amazons 'look inside' function!
3/ Rob Ryan Tile from the exhibition I visited in Cambridge, I had completely forgotten about it so it was a double surprise!  
4/ Patchwork Washi Tape! Who knew such a thing existed? Each little strip is different! This one I ordered myself from a fab Etsy shop but I'm saving that share for another day...  
5/ This beautiful 2-tier cake stand is from my Mum, it came in that lovely box and the pattern around the edge of the plate is the same. I love it's cute scandi-ish style and muted colour palette, completely different from anything else I have seen! She told me she had got it in Wilkinson of all places so I'm going to make a point of stopping by there a little more often in the future!  
6/ This fun and funky Joseph Joseph chopping board was a present from my sister and her boyfriend, it's the perfect size for cutting all those lemon wedges for the many cocktail parties I'm going to throw!  
7/ 8/ & 9/ All presents from my two very best friends! The owl has an inner cushion which you heat in the microwave to keep cosy, it looks a little like Donna Wilson's designs don't you think? And last but not least baking goodies! A giant cupcake mould and super colourful square cookie cutters...should keep me busy in the long winter months!

Normal posting will resume now that the madness of the holidays has passed so I will see you again soon!

pinterest pick of the week...

Well that most magical time of year is almost here and tomorrow I'm sure all of us will be putting up our stockings for Santa to fill will with trinkets and goodies! I always get a bag of chocolate coins and a tangerine in mine! So for todays pinterest picks I have rounded up some of the prettiest stockings I could find to get us all feeling excited in anticipation of the big day! I've tried to find something for eveyone so we have felt, knit, fabrics etc...so enjoy and I wish everyone a wonderful and happy Chistmas!

littletree bakes...holiday muffins

 

It's almost time for the big day and if like me your after something a bit different for your christmas breakfast then give these muffins a go! Or if you aren't the biggest fan of mince pies they would make a great alternative but still packed with all the taste of christmas...this recipe was a bit mix and match from my favourite muffin book but they turned out so well I had to share it with you! 

Ingredients

• 9oz Self Raising Flour
• 1tsp Baking Powder
• 3oz Caster Sugar
• 2oz Soft Brown Sugar
• Pinch of Salt
• 1tsp Mixed Spice
• 1 Egg - lightly whisked
• 8 floz Milk
• 3oz Melted Butter or Vegetable/Sunflower Oil
• 2 large handfuls of Dried Cranberries
• Zest of 1 small Orange
• 2 tbsp Brown Sugar and 1/2tsp Mixed Spice mixed in a small bowl for the topping

Method

• Preheat your oven to 190c and line a 12 hole muffin tin.
• In a large bowl combine the Flour, Baking Powder, both Sugars, Salt and Spice. Stir until well combined, break up any large chunks of brown sugar.
• Roughly chop the Dried Cranberries and add to the dry flour mix with the Orange zest.
• Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and add your Egg, Milk and melted butter/oil.
• Stir until just combined, the mix will look lumpy so don't panic!
• Divide the mix equally between the muffin cases and then sprinkle on the Brown Sugar and Spice topping.
• Pop in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden.
• Leave to cool on a wire rack and resist if you can!

These would be lovely soft and warm from the oven on Christmas morning...
